Paperback Rights and Pricing

The final step in publishing your POD paperback on Amazon via KDP.

Select the territories in which you have publishing rights (typically all territories).

Pricing & Royalties

On the Pricing screen, you get to set the price you want to charge for your book. The screen shows you the cost of delivering your book, so you should pick a price greater than this amount. Note that I usually charge no more than $5.99 or $6.99 at the most per book.

Check the checkboxes to instruct KDP to set your Great Britain and Europe prices based on your American dollar price.

Click the Save and Continue button at the bottom of the screen to move on.

Proof Copies

When your book is finished being reviewed and approved by the KDP technical staff, you will receive an email asking you to review and approve your manuscript. What KDP would like you to do is order a hardcopy proof of your book; however, if you've already reviewed the layout of your book using the KDP Interior Reviewer there is no need to order a physical proof. Instead, simply approve the book so as is to place it on sale at KDP and Amazon.

Of course, there is one valid reason to order a proof: that is to finally see your book in print. This is the only valid reason for ordering a proof.
